Lisa Simonyi

Trustee

Swedish-born Lisa holds a BA in Corporate Communication from Queen Margaret University in Scotland, where she completed an exchange program at Ithaca College. She finished her bachelor’s degree in London as well as completing an internship working for Dale Carnegie. She also holds a MSc in International Management, and a minor in Organizational Psychology from BI Norwegian Business School, Oslo, Norway. She worked for a few years in London as a marketing manager, and a manager in Asset Management. She then returned home to Sweden to be close to family, where, ironically enough, she would meet Charles, who was then living halfway around the globe. In Sweden, she worked as an executive at an employment agency. Since moving to Seattle, Lisa has been very active in our community serving. She currently serves as Vice Chair of the University of Washington Foundation Board (will move to Chair in the fall of 2025), was formerly on the board of the Seattle Symphony, and has been active with the Woodland Park Zoo and Swedish Hospital.

Lisa is a proud mother of their two daughters, members of Class 2029 and 2031, who she spends as much time as possible with, together with their mini–Golden Retriever Cricket. You might catch her walking in the neighborhood with friends, or golfing when the schedule allows.
