Elizabeth Baseman

Resident Teacher

B.A., Humanities and Anthropology, San Jose State University; M.A., Anthropology, Western Washington University

A budding educator and learning enthusiast, Elizabeth is thrilled to be joining the Eastside Preparatory School team as a Resident Social Science teacher. Originally from the Sierras in Central California, Elizabeth fell in love with the Pacific Northwest during her time at Western Washington University, where she received her Master’s in Anthropology for her research on immigration policies and refugee resettlement in the United States. Coming from a family of teacher’s, Elizabeth tried to avoid the pull to work in education, working briefly as a substitute teacher before pivoting to graduate school. Alas, Elizabeth surrendered, and found herself working at a bilingual primary school in Madrid, then as a long term substitute teacher in California while completing her teaching credential. Elizabeth is honored to be joining the group of educators at EPS, and is excited to return, and stay, in the Pacific Northwest.

Elizabeth is happiest deep in the woods or swimming in lakes, oceans, and rivers. Her and her dog, Olive, are avid park goers and love a day lounging on the grass.
