A. Matthew (’31) competed at the Washington State Elementary Chess Championship, where he finished with a score of 3.0.
B. Jasmine (’30) placed second at Puget Sound Regional Qualifiers with her volleyball team, SIVBC 12 Monsoon, earning a bid to the Girls Junior National Championships.
C. Irene (’30) volleyball team was ranked thirteenth out of forty teams at the Puget Sound Region (PSR) Power League Tournament, and she was selected for the Puget Sound All-Star 2024 U13 volleyball camp.
D. Eunsoo (’30) participated in the Performing Arts Festival of the Eastside and received third place in Solo and Concerto divisions for woodwinds in flute performance.
E. Ruike (’27), Nehal (’28) and Aryaman (’28) created award-winning videos for the World of 8 Billion video contest. Ruike won first place in the high school category for her video “Floods: Planting a Stable Coastline” and Nehal and Aryaman won a State Honor for their video “Desertification.”
F. Makayla (’28), Amelia (’31), and Camilla (’32) are members of the competitive Signature Dance Team at Backstage Dance Studio. Makayla and Camilla received Maximum Velocity Artist (MVA) runner-up scholarships at the Velocity Regional Dance Competition.
G. William (’28) and Thom (’29) finished third in State for VEX Robotics and received the Amaze Award, earning them a chance to compete at the VEX Robotics World Championship in Texas, which featured 500 middle school teams from around the world.
H. Ari (’27) qualified for the National Computational Linguistics Open Competition (NACLO) Invitational in March 2024, a contest that involves solving language puzzles from all over the world.
I. Atalay (’27) raised awareness in the EPS community about the All In for Autism 5K and supported the cause at the event.
J. Xinyuan (’25) received three awards at the Washington State Science and Engineering Fair (WSSEF): Association for Women Geoscientists Award, GENIUS Olympiad Exceptional Award, and NOAA’s 2024 Taking the Pulse of the Planet Award for her project on modeling glaciers.
K. Adam (’25), Soren(’25), and Yash (’25) received two awards at the Washington State Science and Engineering Fair (WSSEF): first place at WSSEF and a Genius Olympiad Exceptional Award for their project on improving the aerodynamics of wind turbines through biomimicry.
L. Diya (’24) and Veer (’26) won first place in division finals at the FTC Robotics World Championships. They received a Control Award, which is awarded to a team for their mastery of robot intelligence.
