Dana (Gibbon) Alegre (’11)

After graduating from Linfield College (go cats!), obtaining my Master’s from the University of Oregon, and working at the Stowers Institute for Medical Research, I’m currently working as a Bioinformatics Analyst at Oregon State’s Center for Genome Research and Biocomputing. I support researchers from many different departments by asking and answering biological questions by analyzing next generation sequencing data.

EPS played a significant role in shaping the person I am today, so I’d like to give back to the school in every way that I can. Being on the Alumni Council is a great way to help alumni network with each other and current students. Both the transitions, between high school and college as well as college to the workforce are significant, life changing experiences. Having a network with these recent experiences is a tool I wish I had access to at the time.
