November 9, 2023 @ 8:45 am - 10:15 am
Eastside Prep is committed to suicide prevention and has, for several years, worked with Forefront Suicide Prevention at the University of Washington. This year, our counseling team is offering two parent training sessions to equip us with an eye for prevention across the community—looking out for our own children as well as their friends, classmates, and neighbors. You will learn the five simple and effective LEARN® steps that empower individuals to help others move in the direction of hope, recovery, and survival. These steps play an important role in helping us recognize when peers, friends, and family might be having thoughts of suicide, and to know how and where to refer those individuals to keep them safe. Beyond empowering adults to prevent suicide, this training is a great opportunity to meet with other parents/guardians in support of the emotional well-being of students and to continue to build community at EPS.
We are offering an in-person parent training session on Thursday, November 9th from 8:45-10:15 am. We ask that parents/guardians RSVP using this LINK.
