Alicia is a highly experienced math educator with a passion for teaching and over fourteen years of experience in public and private schools. Having taught middle and high school, Alicia comprehensively understands the math curriculum at various levels. Throughout her career, Alicia has embraced innovative teaching methods, such as incorporating game design and systems thinking into her lessons while teaching at a school in New York City. She has also lived and taught at a New England boarding school, gaining a unique perspective on education. Notably, Alicia has dedicated eight years to designing and implementing a flipped classroom model, enabling students to engage with math concepts outside of the traditional classroom setting. Coming most recently from Seattle Academy, Alicia is excited to brings= a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role at EPS.
Outside the classroom, you can find Alicia (trying to) teach herself hand embroidery, visiting art museums, traveling, and hiking with her husband and dog, Maisie.
