A. Ella (’23) qualified to ride in the 2022 IEA National Finals. Ella won the Varsity Open Equitation class helping her team, Sharkey Farm, take home the IEA High School Hunt Seat Team Championship for the nation.

B. Ruby (’23) was the Sharkey Farm IEA team captain and attended Nationals as the Hunt Seat Youth Board Representative for Zone 9. She was also just named the Zone 9 youth board representative a second time for this upcoming year.

C. Krithika (’22) published an article on Neuro ethics titled “Deep Brain Stimulation for Parkinson’s Disease – Psychological Side Effects and Ethical Considerations.”

D. Brothers Nathan (’25) and Arthur (’27) are competitive bridge players. This summer they competed in a national tournament along with some of the best players in the world and placed in the top fifty. More recently, they won the open pairs event at the Puget Sound Regional event.

E. Caroline (’23) and Nicaia (’24) were two of thirty-two soccer players selected from players across the western United States to attend the Girls Academy NW Conference Talent ID camp in Portland last spring.

F. Damian (’26) competed for the first time this year in Judo at the high school division level. He is currently ranked number three in the nation. Damian received a bronze medal at the 2022 Junior Olympics and US Open.

G. Evan (’23) was the lead teen organizer for the summer program assisting Ukrainian teenage refugees. The group provided programming, filmmaking, and drawing classes. Evan developed the curriculum for the filmmaking class and taught students how to create superpowers with visual effects.

H. Sonali (’24) bakes and decorates amazing cakes in her spare time and has been featured in both American Cake Decorating and Cake Masters magazines.

I. Alice (’27) received a Silver Key (Short Story) award for her story Passacaglia, a story about a disfigured memory, from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.

J. Ria (’23) won a first-place award at the Washington State Science and Engineering Fair for a computational biology project. The project was centered on improving patch clamp electrophysiology on Piezo1 mechanosensitive ion channels in red blood cells for higher predictability of vascular disorders.
