Community Briefing: August 7, 2020
The countdown has begun continued…since March…167 days ago. Kids change so much over the summer, I’m afraid I won’t recognize anyone by the time we meet again!
I—along with everyone else—am eager to get on to the next phase. While we don’t know exactly what it will look like, I want to emphasize that we are ready to move as soon as it’s safe to do so. As soon as we CAN return, we WILL return; we won’t have any delays due to lack of equipment or confusion about procedures.
On a different topic—I hope that families who elected to enroll in our Activities this month are enjoying the experience. I know faculty are having fun, and they’re fairly sure students are, too.
In the meantime—we wait—we stay healthy—and we know this will end—and that we will all be on campus again. The only data point we don’t have is the date.
EPS Curbside—Coming to a School Near You!
Thanks to the more than 90 families who responded to our catering offer— curbside dinner pick up! Not surprisingly, a large majority indicated that they would definitely have interest. I actually think that as soon as we get this started—and it’s coming soon—word will travel about what a great deal this is. Details, menus and time frames will be available soon—and EPS gets to keep our phenomenal dining staff! Thanks to everyone for your support!
Grade-Level Parent Welcome Meetings with Division Heads
We are so excited to begin our school year in just a few short weeks! In order to ramp up for school, we are planning a series of meetings with parent/guardians to build community, answer questions, and launch the school year. Email invitations were sent out to each grade level earlier this week. Here are the Teams Links to join:

Plan for Reopening the Campus
While we have made the decision to begin the school year in remote learning mode, a great deal of planning and investment in the campus was completed over the summer in preparation for our eventual return to in-person learning. While we don’t know exactly when we may be able to return to the campus, we are sharing the protocols and procedures we have put in place for that return. Of course, the science and best practices on health and safety related to COVID-19 are changing rapidly so this document will be updated regularly as new information is learned. We will re-send the most up-to-date version to our community again before returning to the campus. You can find the guide here. (password: EPS1920)
If you have any questions on the document, please contact Vickie Baldwin, Director of Institutional Advancement.
