Amit Bhutani, an engineer at heart, has worked in the software and internet technology industry for more than twenty years. He joined SoFi in 2019, and is currently the Vice President of Data Engineering and Product. Prior to SoFi, he was at Amazon for nine years in many different roles, most recently leading the Natural Language Understanding team in Alexa Shopping. Prior to Amazon, he worked in consulting and a couple of mobile technology startups. He has two patents from his work at Amazon.

Amit grew up in New Delhi, India, and moved to the US when he joined the BS in Computer Science program at Hofstra University, graduating in 1999. Outside of work Amit enjoys playing video games and traveling with the family. Travel is in the family DNA with multiple generations traveling together exploring different parts of our beautiful planet. Amit and his wife, Tani, have one daughter who is enrolled at EPS in the Class of 2026. Amit’s niece is also enrolled at EPS in the Class of 2027.
