INSIGHT: New Year, New Beginning
By Dr. Terry Macaluso, Head of School
It’s been suggested many times that “the problem with schools is that they start and stop every year.” In some ways, I agree with that. The energy for the ramp up to a new school year, as well as the investment of time in the ceremonies and celebrations that end the school year, are immense. At this time of year, however, I am acutely aware of the impact of the ending and beginning of a new year.
We’ve just concluded a trimester—rich with experience and accomplishments. Students, faculty and staff have given it their all—and the feeling of achievement is palpable.
What matters most now is that we let the natural cycle of time refuel us for what is truly a new beginning. On January 1, it actually does all begin anew.
I send my best wishes to everyone for a warm holiday season, and for a new beginning—replete with the promise that everything is possible!
Happy 2019!
